“Some stories are written on paper. Others are written into the heart.”

There is something about writing that has always felt natural to me.
I love to write. I love to tell stories. And perhaps more than anything, I love remembering.
When I sit down to write, I often find myself wandering through the many chapters of my life. Some memories are vivid, almost as if they happened yesterday. Others have softened around the edges with time, but they are still there—quietly waiting to be remembered.
I have lived a full life.
I’ve had experiences that have made me laugh, experiences that have broken my heart, moments that have challenged me, and moments that have reminded me just how precious this life really is.
And I believe those experiences are worth writing about.
The memories I carry with me are near and dear to my heart because they helped make me the person I am today.
Growing up in Alaska taught me things that I don’t think I could have learned anywhere else.
I learned from my parents. I learned from my family, my aunts and uncles, and from the people around me. I learned by watching, listening, working, making mistakes, and simply living.
Alaska has a way of teaching you.
Sometimes the lessons come from the mountains and the water. Sometimes they come from the weather, the seasons, or the long stretches of quiet. And sometimes the most important lessons come from the people sitting around the kitchen table.
Those lessons have stayed with me.
Then there was aviation.
My career took me into a world I had dreamed about and loved for many years. Along the way, I met so many people who influenced my life in positive ways. Some stayed for a season, others became lifelong friends, and some probably never realized how much something they said or did affected me.
That’s another thing I’ve learned about life.
We don’t always know the impact we have on someone else.
A conversation. A little encouragement. A helping hand. A chance someone gave you. Sometimes the smallest moments become part of someone else’s story.
And now, as I look back, I realize there are still so many stories inside me.
Stories about Alaska.
Stories about family.
Stories about aviation.
Stories about people I’ve met along the way.
Stories about mistakes, adventures, heartbreak, laughter, faith, second chances, and the lessons life continues to teach me.
I suppose that’s what brings me into the Writers Room.
For me, writing isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about being willing to explore the questions.
It’s about putting memories into words.
It’s about preserving a little piece of the past while continuing to make room for whatever comes next.
I love this place.
I love Alaska.
And I love and care deeply about my family and the people who have been part of my journey.
There is still so much I want to say.
So many stories yet to be told.
And I’m looking forward to continuing to write, continuing to create, continuing to remember—and maybe most importantly, continuing to just be.
To sit down.
To think.
To remember.
To write.
One story at a time.
Welcome to the Writers Room.
This is where the stories begin.
