A Calling Reawakened Through Loss, Legacy, and Love

He sat quietly, pen in hand, thoughts unfolding like waves against a familiar shore. The kind of silence that only comes after loss had settled in—a silence that speaks, if you’re willing to listen.

Recently, his father had passed from this world into heaven.

And with that moment, something shifted.

Not all at once. Not loudly. But deeply.

It was as if something long buried—something sacred—had been stirred awake again in his heart.

Years earlier, his life had taken flight—literally. He had chosen the path of aviation, chasing the dream of becoming a pilot. It wasn’t just ambition that carried him forward; it was the unwavering support of his parents. His mom and dad were more than spectators—they were his foundation, his encouragers, his constant voices saying, “Keep going.”

And he did.

But somewhere between ground school and the open skies, another dream began to form—one he hadn’t expected.

A quieter calling at first.

Then undeniable.

While still in flight school, something spiritual began to take root. A hunger for truth. A desire not for recognition, but for meaning. For purpose. For something eternal.

That hunger led him to Bible college.

From there, doors opened across the Pacific Northwest and into Canada. He traveled, spoke, and shared what had been revealed to him—truths that had transformed not just his thinking, but his identity.

It wasn’t about performance.

It was about alignment.

During that same season, another gift emerged. With no formal training, he picked up a guitar and began to teach himself how to play. What started as curiosity turned into worship. And what began as private moments became public ones—leading others into something deeper than words could reach.

A new dream had been born.

And once again, his parents stood behind him—faithful, proud, unwavering.

He called them often.

Checked in.

Talked about life, about ministry, about direction.

They listened.

They encouraged.

They believed.

Years passed.

Ministry evolved.

New paths, new streams, new lessons.

There was growth—real, stretching growth. The kind that shapes a man from the inside out. The kind that forms what he would later recognize as a mantle—a calling uniquely his, placed on his life with intention.

But life has a way of shifting focus.

Responsibilities grew.

Opportunities changed.

The corporate world came calling—and for a time, it took center stage.

Slowly, almost without noticing, he began to set that mantle down.

Not out of rebellion.

Not out of rejection.

Just… drift.

And then came the loss.

His father’s passing wasn’t just an ending—it was an awakening.

Sitting now in reflection, memories flood back. Conversations. Encouragement. The consistent voice of both his mother and father reminding him to stay close to the Creator. To not lose sight of what had been placed inside him.

To return if he ever wandered.

And now, here he was.

Back at the beginning.

But not the same man.

There’s something powerful about coming full circle—with experience in your bones and clarity in your spirit.

As he sat there, writing, pondering, remembering… he realized this wasn’t just grief he was feeling.

It was ignition.

A rekindling.

A call back to the very things he once carried so faithfully.

The truth he was meant to share.

The worship he was meant to lead.

The voice he was meant to use.

The mantle had never left him.

It had simply been waiting.

And now, it was time.

Time to pick it back up.

Time to step back into those flowing streams.

Time to say yes—again.

Not for applause.

Not for position.

But for purpose.

For truth.

For the One who placed it there in the first place.

Even now, there’s a yearning in his heart—a deep desire to witness a move of the Creator once more. Not just around him, but within him.

And as that fire begins to burn again, one thing is clear:

This isn’t a restart.

It’s a continuation.

A return.

A rebirth.

So here he stands.

With memory as his guide, legacy as his anchor, and calling as his compass.

And with quiet resolve, he takes a step forward.

Here we go.
